Do you need Bob Ross-certified paint for the Bob Ross technique?
You do not need Bob Ross-branded paint to use the technique, but the oil paint should have a consistency and working time suitable for wet-on-wet landscape painting.
The paint is:
- Thicker.
- Vibrant color.
- Soft texture but not weak color.
- Firm texture.
The features are important for wet on wet paints.
However, you can use different brands of paints. But it will be a little harder to achieve Bob ross's color. And in some brands can be missing any or two colors that bob ross used.聽
You can try other paint brands if you love to explore different paint pigments. And the result will not be bad, but Bob Ross paint is always recommended for the wet-on-wet technique because it comes for these primary reasons.
