Painting Surface
PVC
PVC is a rigid or flexible plastic made from polyvinyl chloride. Its smooth, nonporous surface and manufacturing additives can make paint adhesion product-specific.
PVC paint compatibility
Spray paint can bond well to PVC when the formula specifically approves it and the surface is clean, dry, and prepared as directed.
| Paint | Compatibility | Preparation | Primer | Finish | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spray paint | Good with a PVC-approved formula | Identify the item as PVC, remove dirt and residue, and let the surface dry fully. | Product-specific; use a plastic bonding primer unless direct application is approved. | Apply light coats and allow the full stated cure before handling or exposure. | — |
