Paint Type

Glass Paint

Glass paint is a specialty coating formulated to adhere to smooth glass and similar glazed surfaces. Products may be opaque or transparent and can use air curing, oven curing, or another product-specific process to improve durability.

Glass paint compatibility

Glass paint is designed for slick nonporous surfaces, especially glass and glazed ceramic. Cleaning, curing, washing limits, and food-contact restrictions depend on the exact product.

Surface Compatibility Preparation Primer or ground Finish Guide
Glass Excellent with a glass-specific paint Degrease thoroughly with the cleaning method specified by the manufacturer and keep the surface free of fingerprints before painting. Usually none when the paint is specifically formulated for glass. Follow the exact air-curing or oven-curing schedule before washing or regular handling.
Glazed ceramic Excellent when the product expressly approves glazed ceramic Clean and degrease the glazed surface thoroughly and avoid touching prepared areas before painting. Usually none with a glass-and-ceramic specialty paint; follow the selected product directions. Observe the stated cure or bake schedule and keep painted areas away from direct food contact unless the product specifically permits it.
