Fiberglass
Fiberglass combines glass fibers with resin, and finished parts usually expose a smooth resin or gelcoat face that requires compatible paint preparation.
Paint compatibility with fiberglass
Acrylic paint can work on prepared fiberglass, but primer and topcoat must match its resin or gelcoat and the expected indoor or outdoor exposure.

Tom Holland
Holland cuts fiberglass sheets into shaped paintings and sculptural forms, then applies a white base coat and epoxy paint. He describes the light, strong panels as unframed works that hang close to the wall, with their thin edges and silhouettes extending the image into the surrounding space.

Ronald Davis
In Roto (1968), Davis formed a twelve-sided painting from pigmented polyester resin and fiberglass cloth in a mold. LACMA notes that resin let him create unusual shapes and illusionistic depth, making the molded composite support part of the painting’s geometry.
