Laminate is a layered material with a hard decorative wear surface bonded over a core. Its outer layer is smooth, nonporous, and resistant to ordinary paint.
Spray and chalk paint can work on laminate, but the slick surface needs thorough cleaning and product-specific preparation to help the coating bond.
