Melamine
Melamine is a hard resin surface commonly bonded to particleboard or MDF for cabinets, shelving, and furniture. Its slick, nonporous finish gives ordinary paint little natural grip.
Melamine paint compatibility
Cabinet coating systems and enamel paint can work on melamine when the surface is thoroughly degreased and the selected bond coat or primer is approved for slick surfaces.
