Cast Iron
Cast iron is a ferrous metal that can rust when exposed to moisture. Its textured surface can hold corrosion and contamination, so durable painting depends on removing loose rust and using a coating system intended for iron or steel.
Cast iron paint compatibility
Cast iron generally accepts metal coatings well after loose rust, scale, grease, and failing paint are removed. The primer and topcoat should match the intended temperature, moisture, handling, and outdoor exposure.
