Gouache paint overview
Gouache is an opaque, water-based art paint that usually dries quickly to a matte finish. Traditional gouache remains water-sensitive after drying and performs best in thin layers; heavy applications can crack.
Gouache paint compatibility
Paper is the usual choice, but some gouache products also approve canvas and wood. Keep layers relatively thin and confirm the selected paint's directions.
